From admin support to Regional Crisis Support Manager

I started out in admin support and worked my way through the sector, becoming a Registered Manager and later a Regional Crisis Support Manager. Today I am a Nominated Individual as well as an independent consultant.

Along the way I have delivered 4,000 weekly hours in domiciliary care and led teams in residential care homes with more than 100 residents, including people living with dementia, people needing EMI nursing care and people with specialist health conditions. Having worked in both domiciliary and residential care, I understand the different pressures each one brings.

What I believe

Comfort, freedom and dignity are at the heart of any care providing business. I believe you must care to care. That applies to the people you support, and it applies to the staff and managers who support them.

I build lasting relationships with the providers I work with, because improvement that lasts comes from people rather than paperwork. My aim is always the same: to improve your team's ability to deliver compliant care while improving the wellbeing of the people you support and meeting their complex needs.

Where I work

I work with care homes and domiciliary care services. In England that means services registered with CQC, and in Scotland, services registered with the Care Inspectorate.
